Karen Mossman

Dr. Karen Mossman currently serves as the Vice-President, Research, for McMaster University. She is a professor in the Department of Medicine, and prior to joining the Office of the Vice-President, Research, Karen was chair of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. She has extensive experience in both administration and research, leading a robust lab with a dozen research technicians, scientists, post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students with a focus on molecular virology and cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Mossman’s research focuses on virus pathogenesis, studying how hosts respond to invading viruses – including coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2 - and how such viruses resist such responses.
