Karen Mossman
Associate Vice-President, Office of the Vice-President, Research

Dr. Karen Mossman currently serves as the Acting Vice-President, Research, for McMaster University. She is a professor in pathology and molecular medicine, and prior to joining the Office of the Vice-President, Research, Karen was chair of biochemistry and biomedical sciences. She has extensive experience in both administration and research, leading a robust lab with a dozen research technicians, scientists, post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students with a focus on molecular virology and cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Mossman’s research focuses on virus pathogenesis, studying how hosts respond to invading viruses – like Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) - and how such viruses resist such responses.
