Christine D Wilson
Professor, Physics & Astronomy

Dr. Christine Wilson is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University. Dr. Wilson is the (Tier 1) Canada Research Chair in Extragalactic Star Formation and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Her research focuses on observational astronomy, specifically on gas and star formation in galaxies, and makes extensive use of new and archival data from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. Current research includes determining how the large-scale environment affects the process of star formation inside galaxies and identifying the mechanisms that trigger intense bursts of star formation when two galaxies collide.
