Leyla Soleymani

Professor, Engineering Physics

Dr. Leyla Soleymani holds a Canada Research Chair in Miniaturized Biomedical Devices, and is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University. She received her M.Sc. from the University of Southern California, and her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. To address the world’s problems in healthcare, Dr. Soleymani’s translational research combines innovations in Engineering and Biochemistry. She is currently interested in developing in-vitro and in-vivo biosensors for disease diagnostics and health monitoring, fabricating hierarchical and hybrid materials, and developing engineered surfaces with repellent properties.
