Professor, Rehabilitation Science

Dr. Michelle Kho is a Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. As a clinician-scientist, she also cares for patients as a physiotherapist in the St. Joseph’s Healthcare ICU in Hamilton.

Dr. Kho leads a clinical research program to improve outcomes of critical illness survivors. She completed CYCLE, a multicentre RCT of very early in-bed cycling in mechanically ventilated patients to improve patient outcomes. She just started ACE ICU Rehab (Arm Cycle Ergometry), a multicentre pilot RCT of early arm cycle ergometry started in the ICU through to hospital discharge.
