Jeremy Walsh
Assistant Professor, Kinesiology

Dr. Jeremy Walsh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University. Dr. Walsh joined McMaster University in July 2020, after earning after earning an undergraduate honours kinesiology degree at Wilfrid Laurier University and his Master’s and PhD in exercise physiology at the Queen’s University. He held post-doctoral positions at the University of Ottawa through the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

Dr. Walsh’s research focuses on characterizing the mechanisms underlying the cognitive enhancing effects of exercise and other daily behaviours like diet, screen time, sleep and cognitive engagement. The overarching goal of Dr. Walsh’s research program is to apply this knowledge to develop interventions that optimize cognitive health and protect against neurological disease across the lifespan.
