An Ecological-network-analysis Input-output Model for Analyzing Energy Consumption in Fujian Province

Abstract

In this study, an ecological-network-analysis input-output model (ENA-IOM) is developed through coupling input output model (IOM) with ecological network analysis (ENA). ENA-IOM aims to transform monetary flow into physical flow and reveal the hidden relationships among sectors through network utility analysis and network control analysis. Results show that, for Fujian province, secondary industry is the main energy consumer. EGS (energy generation and supply), the foremost energy consumer, depend on HI (heavy industry) and LI (light industry) heavily. Results suggest that reducing the proportion of secondary industry and adjusting its production structure can help decrease the provincial energy consumption.
