Structure and Functional Relationships in Human pur H

Abstract

In both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells the pur H gene encodes a bifunctional protein which carries the penultimate and the final activities of the de novo purine nucleotide biosynthetic pathway. These two steps are shown in Figure 1.
