Joelle Papillon
Associate Professor, French

Joëlle Papillon is an Associate Professor at McMaster University, where she teaches Indigenous, French-Canadian and Québécois literatures. She is particularly interested in contemporary women’s literature (Désir et insoumission chez Arcan, Millet et Ernaux, Presses de l’Université Laval, 2018; Nelly Arcan: trajectoires fulgurantes [co-ed.], les éditions du remue-ménage, 2017) and First Nations' literature in French. She acknowledges that she lives and works on the actual and traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee et Anishinaabe peoples, whom she thanks for their hospitality.
