Abdelsimar II Omar
Assistant Professor, Surgery

Dr. Omar's research interest lies in leveraging administrative databases in health services and surgical outcomes research. In particular, he is involved in work emulating landmark trials in neurosurgery and neuro-oncology using administrative databases, and examining the role of social determinants of health in brain tumor outcomes. He is currently affiliated with both the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) in Toronto, ON and the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacogenomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, for his work in large databases. He is also interested in Global Neurosurgery, and remains as affiliate staff in the Division of Neurosurgery at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.
