Orgaran in the Prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis in Stroke Patients
Abstract
Venous thrombo-embolism is a common complication in patients with acute ischaemic stroke. Without prophylaxis, deep vein thrombosis occurs in 60-75% of patients with dense hemiplegia, usually in the paralyzed limb, and 1-2% suffer fatal pulmonary embolism.
