The Effects of Methylphenidate on the Mother‐child Interactions of Hyperactive Identical Twins

Abstract

SUMMARY The effects of methylphenidate (‘Ritalin’) on the mother‐child interactions of extremely hyperactive identical twin boys were examined in a triple blind, drug‐placebo, single‐case reversal design. Each child was observed interacting with his mother in a series of four 30‐minute sessions, which included 15 minutes of free play and 15 minutes of structured tasks.
