1263-P: Adolescent Obesity and Incident Type 1 Diabetes in Young Adulthood
Abstract
Background: Studies in children reported an association between increased body mass index (BMI) and risk for developing type 1 diabetes (T1D) . We studied the association between adolescent BMI and incident T1D in young adulthood in a nationwide cohort of 1,462,362 adolescents which was recently used to assess the association between adolescent BMI and early-onset type 2 diabetes (Diabetes Care 2020 Jul;43 (7) :1487-1495) .
