Is Screening for Atrial Fibrillation and Its Risk Factors Useful and Cost-Effective?
Abstract
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major, preventable cause of stroke, whose prevalence is increasing with the aging of the population. There are safe and effective anticoagulation therapies to prevent stroke and new technologies that can identify AF in asymptomatic individuals.
