Endotracheal Intubation and In-Hospital Mortality after Intracerebral Hemorrhage
Abstract
BACKGROUND: Many patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhages (ICHs) undergo endotracheal intubation with subsequent mechanical ventilation (MV) for "airway protection" with the intent to prevent aspiration, pneumonias, and its related mortality.
