Megakaryocyte apoptosis in immune thrombocytopenia
Abstract
The mechanisms of platelet underproduction in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) remain unknown. While the number of megakaryocytes is normal or increased in ITP bone marrow, further studies of megakaryocyte integrity are needed.
