Overview
McMaster Philosophy is a dynamic, research- and teaching-oriented department that explores fundamental questions related to knowledge, mind, existence, society, ethics, and value. The department's strengths include legal and political philosophy, theoretical and applied ethics, epistemology and metaphysics, continental and analytical perspectives, and the history of philosophy. Offering B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees, McMaster Philosophy provides programs in Philosophy and Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law (JPPL). Graduates develop skills in communication, critical reasoning, and problem-solving, preparing them for careers in fields such as medicine, law, business, and public policy.
