Abstract

BACKGROUND: Smoking may affect adversely the cure rate for Helicobacter pylori infection in patients treated with amoxicillin and omeprazole. Therapy with clarithromycin and omeprazole was tested for its effectiveness in the treatment of H. pylori infection in smokers and nonsmokers.
