Abstract
OBJECTIVES: The majority of distal esophageal adenocarcinomas are believed to arise in patients with Barrett's esophagus (BE). Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection plays an etiological role in gastric carcinogenesis, but any possible role in BE is uncertain.
