BACKGROUND: Few studies have assessed the effect of prothrombotic blood abnormalities on the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). METHODS: We studied postmenopausal women with suspected DVT in whom HRT use and prothrombotic blood abnormalities were sought.
