BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: To determine whether warfarin prolongs the time to first mechanical-catheter failure. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS, & MEASUREMENTS: This was a multicenter parallel-group randomized controlled trial with blinding of participants, trial staff, clinical staff, outcome assessors, and data analysts.
