Influence of Mechanical Stretch on Thrombin Regulation by Fetal Mixed Lung Cells
Abstract
Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) is characterized by intrapulmonary fibrin deposition, which can adversely affect surfactant function, and stimulate fibroblast proliferation, which may contribute to the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
