A theoretical investigation of the chemical behaviour of irradiated U-Mo/Mg fuel

A preliminary theoretical study of the thermochemical behaviour of irradiated U-Mo/Mg research reactor fuel has been presented. It is clear that the fresh fuel system is fairly well understood; however, the thermochemistry of irradiated fuel is not at hand. Fortunately, a large amount of knowledge and experience of irradiated conventional UO2 fuel can be leveraged with exception of any interactions with the Mg meat and the Al cladding.
