Hemodynamic relationship of invasive left ventricular pressure and aortic blood flow

Abstract

The invasive left ventricular pressure and the aortic blood flow relationship is an important one. During baseline & under Dobutamine stress (as shown here) in a large animal model a visual comparison can be made using ejection times from multiple cardiac cycles. All can be performed without preload reduction i.e. by using simple steady state comparisons or during the preload reduction by occluding the inferior (IVC) or superior (SVC) vena cava or (both).  Interesting Ao blood flow timing during Dobutamine challenge is presented.
