Allostratigraphy
Abstract
Allostratigraphy is a formal, material-based stratigraphic scheme that designates mappable units based on bounding discontinuities rather than internal lithology or facies, thus allowing different lithologies deposited in different but linked environments to be included in the same stratigraphic unit.
