Design of Silicon on Diamond Grating Couplers
Abstract
This study examines the efficiency of grating couplers for connecting silicon on diamond (SOD) integrated waveguides to optical fibers. We begin by analyzing optimized uniform gratings and then apply linear apodization to boost efficiency. Apodization is used in two ways: over a partial segment of the grating, and over the complete grating.
