Sex-differences in resting-state brain activity in children with concussion in comparison to matched healthy controls.
Abstract
There are known sex-differences with respect to the clinical presentation of pediatric concussion, with girls reporting more symptoms and symptoms with greater severity than boys. This is the first study to show that there are also sex-differences in resting state brain activity in children with concussion, suggesting that the sex-specific clinical presentation may have neurological underpinnings.
