A clinical trial of creatine in ALS

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Mitochondrial dysfunction occurs early in the course of ALS, and the mitochondria may be an important site for therapeutic intervention. Creatine stabilizes the mitochondrial transition pore, and is important in mitochondrial ATP production.
