Automated trend reinforcement of aeromagnetic data

Abstract

Aeromagnetic maps poorly represent lineaments that are at acute angles to the flight‐line direction. Commonly used gridding algorithms cannot cope with local trends, magnetic anomalies at an angle with the main trend of the map, and tend to generate closed contours around the flight lines.
