Abstract

Fibrinolysis is a series of enzymatic reactions that degrade insoluble fibrin. Plasminogen activators convert the zymogen plasminogen to the active serine protease plasmin, which cleaves and solubilizes crosslinked fibrin clots into fibrin degradation products.
