Low-Threshold Pulley-Coupled Thulium-Silicon Microdisk Lasers

In this work, we present low-threshold lasing in compact thulium-silicon hybrid microdisk resonators with a pulley-coupled design. We observe total on-chip output powers of more than 2 mW and threshold pump powers of < 1 mW.
