BACKGROUND: Initial grading of retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is performed by core biopsy (CB) however, discrepancy between grade of tumour at initial CB and surgical excision is recognised, raising concerns about the accuracy of CB for directing neoadjuvant therapy.
