Mimes and mancipes
Abstract
Few inscriptions tell us about the business workings of the Roman theatre industry. ILS 5206 does not justify some of the statements based on it. On the other hand, the high status of citizen mimes in imperial times and the connection of their association with Anna Perenna are now illuminated by new documents.
