Optimized Design of Tellurium Oxide Coated Subwavelength Grating Metamaterial Waveguides

Abstract

We report on the design of subwavelength grating metamaterial waveguides coated with tellurium oxide on a silicon-on-insulator platform. We discuss our design optimization that led to substantial improvements of modal overlap with the optically active cladding.
