Preliminary study on the application of phanerochaete chrysosporium in composting of lignin waste

Abstract

It is known that Phanerochaete chrysosporium has ability to degrade lignin. The simulative solid waste containing a lot of lignin was put into two composting reactors. One was inoculated with Phanerochaete chrysosporium, while the other was not inoculated. Under the same composting conditions, total content of lignin in the inoculated one reduced from 27498.8 mg to 15438 mg, and 43.86% degradation of lignin was observed. The degrade rate was …
