Stresses of hexagonal screw dislocation arrays. I. The semi‐infinite hexagonal dislocation multipole

Abstract

A model of a hexagonal dislocation loop, which by repetition may be used to form sub‐boundaries of screw dislocations of simple cells involving these, is developed. Rather than being a simple loop of screw dislocations, it is a combination of a hexagonal screw loop and edge dislocations normal to it, the latter required to achieve conservation of Burgers vectors at the nodes.
