Abstract

The house mouse Mus musculus is a polytypic species, distributed worldwide, with three main subspecies: M. m. musculus in the North-East of Eurasia, M. m. castaneus in South-East Asia, and M. m. domesticus in Europe, the Near-East, and Africa.
