Underestimation of airway luminal eosinophilia by quantitative sputum cytometry

Abstract

RationaleOn Wright-stained sputum cytospins, eosinophil differential of ≥ 1.2% is considered abnormal, and ≥ 2.3% identifies an eosinophilic endotype.
