ANG mutations segregate with familial and 'sporadic' amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

We recently identified angiogenin (ANG) as a candidate susceptibility gene for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by adult-onset loss of motor neurons.
