Simulation Surgical Models: Surgeon Perspectives
Abstract
This chapter discusses multiple aspects of surgical simulation, including its history and theoretical underpinnings; the various types, characteristics, and use of surgical simulators; and considerations for simulation such as validity, reliability, and feasibility. Metrics and the assessment of surgical trainees in the simulation environment are also described. Recommendations for simulation-based curriculum development are also discussed.
