Pro-brain-derived neurotrophic factor is decreased in parietal cortex in Alzheimer’s disease

Abstract

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) promotes the function and survival of the major neuronal types affected in Alzheimer disease, such as hippocampal, cortical and basal forebrain cholinergic neurons.
