Margaret Fahnestock

Overview

Dr. Fahnestock has a broad background in biochemistry, cell biology and neuroscience. Her lab is recognized as a leader in studying the regulation of neurotrophic factor expression and signalling in the nervous system. For 35 years, her research has focused on the biosynthesis and regulation of neurotrophins, particularly NGF and BDNF, their receptors TrkA, TrkB and p75NTR, and their roles in neurological disorders.
