Monitor engine condition via vibration signals

Abstract

In this paper, the feasibility of developing an engine dynamic signal monitoring and diagnostic system for use in on-line engine manufacturing is discussed. Modal analysis of the engine block was performed in order to study the dynamic response of the engine block and to determine the proper mounting location for the vibration transducers.
