Modeling and Diagnostic of Incipient Inter-Turn Faults for a Three Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
Abstract
Insulation aging remains the leading cause of inter-turn fault in the stator winding of a PMSM. This aging weakens the insulation until its total deterioration.
