Genetic Algorithm and Performance Indices Applied to Optimal Design of Sandwich Structures

Materials selection methods using performance indices are applied to sandwich design. Examples of performance indices are given. Optimization method using fuzzy logic algorithm for multiple criteria selection and genetic algorithm for search strategy is presented and illustrated on two case studies.
