INHIBITION OF THE MITOGENICITY OF THE CARRIER MOLECULE RESULTS IN LOSS OF IMMUNOGENICITY OF A HAPTEN‐LPS CONJUGATE

Colistin methanesulfonate, a basic polypeptide similar to polymyxin E, has been shown to suppress the mitogenicity of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from E. coli. It also inhibits the immunogenicity of a hapten-LPS conjugate.
