Abstract

A robust computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model accounting for both spatial and temporal dynamics of a subsurface vertical flow treatment wetland system was developed by combining fluid transport, solute transport, biokinetics, biofilm development, and biofilm detachment/sloughing using COMSOL Multiphysics™.
