Respiratory Adaptations to High‐Altitude Hypoxia in Deer Mice ( Peromyscus maniculatus )

The unremitting hypoxia at high altitudes challenges small endotherms to extract enough oxygen from the environment to survive, exercise, and generate enough heat for thermoregulation.
