Electrosynthesis of organic–inorganic nanocomposites

Abstract

Composite films containing nanoparticles of oxides/hydroxides of Al, Y and Zr in a polyethylenimine (PEI) matrix were prepared by novel electrochemical method based on cathodic electrosynthesis of inorganic nanoparticles and cataphoretic deposition of PEI. The PEI content in the films was varied in the range of 0–60wt.% by variation of PEI concentration in solutions. Films of various thickness in the range of up to several microns were obtained by the variation of the deposition time. The mechanism of the deposition is discussed.
