Solid Oxide Fuel Cells Canada NSERC Strategic Research Network

Abstract

The SOFC Canada Network is an association of about 20 research groups from both university and government, partnered with industry. A sub-program provides funding for student workshops, as well as opportunities for student travel both within the Network and internationally. The technical objectives of the Network include enhancing the sulfur/coke tolerance of the fuel processor, improving the performance of cells with sulfur-containing fuels through the development of new sulfur and coke tolerant anodes, as well as increasing cell robustness and lowering cost through alternative cell manufacturing methods and design. Some key research highlights arising from the Network are described here.
