Effects of vagal electrical stimulation on the heart rate power spectra in humans

Abstract

Electrical stimulation of the left vagus nerve through an implanted pacemaker for treating patients with intractable epileptic seizures offers a unique opportunity to examine the effects of vagal electrical stimulation on the heart rate power spectra.
